In this book you will find twenty-two letters written by people who know Henriette Heise and her work as a visual artist. Friends, artists, art historians, musicians and poets, have written specifically for this book.

Henriette asked these people to write a letter taking its point of departure in her work. Names are left out to protect the private sphere and intimacy of the correspondence. There are also four letters written by Henriette herself - letters originally written for the blog bedsteven.blogspot.com >.

Henriette Heise is a visual artist working with imagination and representation, and therefore believes that publishing twenty-six letters and nine linocuts is the most precise way to represent her work in a book. The linocuts are titled "Lens flares".

The book is published to coincide with the opening of her solo show at Overgaden, Institute of Contemporary Art in Copenhagen, November 2010.
